NIMBY

NIMBY (“not in my backyard” - "No en mi patio trasero") es un término peyorativo y es la forma esnob de llamar egoista e incoherente a quien pone alguna objección a un proyecto de energía renovable, sin entrar en sus razones. 

 

El término lo acuñó el geógrafo estadounidense  Mike Davis  es su obra "City of quartz. Excavating the future in Los Angeles" (1990) (Disponible en Archive.org). Quien también acuño:

• NIMEY ( Not In My Election Year),  no en año de elecciones   
• BANANA (Build Absolutely Nothing Anywhere Near Anything), No construir absolutamente nada en ninguna parte cerca de nada 
• YIMBY (Yes In My Back Yard), si en mi patio trasero, es opuesto a NIMBY
  
• BIMBY (Build In My Back Yard), construir en mi patio trasero, es opuesto a NIMBY

Como respuesta al lema "Renovables sí, pero no así" se ha acuñado el de "Renovables sí, pero no aquí" para indicar que realmente es un caso de nimby

"The NIMBY (“not in my backyard”) phenomenon has long been used as the prime explanation for the discrepancy between acceptance for the technology and resistance to concrete projects, but is increasingly being criticized in academic literature. Rand and Hoen (2017) criticize the NIMBY framework as too simplistic and unable to explain the complex process leading to negative attitudes; in a similar vein Sposato and Hampl (2018) see limited value in the NIMBY framework. NIMBY resistance might rather be a result of negative attitudes, but not an explanation for them (Rand and Hoen 2017)" (Brudermann, 2019)

A ainsi montré que les protestations locales contre les projets de production énergétique marine renouvelable (éoliennes, hydroliennes...) s'appuient également sur des préoccupations d'ordre environnemental, économique et social, à d'autres échelles que l'échelle locale." El uso del termino NIMBY es pues la forma genérica y fácil de descalificar  a quien pone alguna objeción a  un proyecto en concreto o de un plan. Demuestra una falta de argumentos y nula capacidad de diálogo o negociación de quien la usa.
